WHAT BINDS NARENDRA MODI & RAGHURAM RAJAN....

My last few weeks, however, have been spent obsessively watching, or listening to  NEWS ABOUT RAGHURAM RAJAN the new governor of the RBI. Rajan's name was announced a month before he actually took over as the 23rd Governor on September 5.

I think, Modi and Rajan, have something in common.

May be in terms of the kind of media hype these two gentlemen are enjoying in their respective fields is unprecedented in Indian history. I don't remember any other prime ministerial aspirant enjoying the kind of publicity Modi is getting well before the general election.  Rajan, too, as a RBI governor has been attracting lot of eyeballs.

There is also a common
ELEMENT OF HOPE ATTACHED to both these two stalwarts in these difficult times the country is facing. Modi is being looked upon as a politician who can fix the existing corrupt administration. Rajan too is being seen as an economist who will stabilize the country's economy.

Neither has any magic wand to solve the structural problems India is facing, but both exude confidence and optimism. Rajan famously said the governorship of the RBI was not meant to win votes or Facebook "likes." But the fact is far, the new media, Facebook and Twitter, are full of praise for Rajan. Modi too attracts hordes of 'likes' and favourable tweets.

Both men are good at communication. Modi uses the new media a lot. He believes in the right kind of communication and uses all tools to achieve it. He uses simple language which connects with the masses. Rajan , too, believes in communication. In his very first media meet, he said the public should have a clear framework as to where we (the RBI) are going, and understand how our policy actions fit into that framework. "The key to all this is communication, and I want to underscore communication with this statement on my first day in office," said Rajan.

Both men are found to be CHARISMATIC LEADER,both successful leaders have a history of success. Modi has won assembly elections in Gujarat three times in succession. Rajan actually predicted the global financial meltdown three years before it shook the world in 2008.

But now both are also venturing into unfamiliar territory. Modi as a national leader has to make himself acceptable to a much larger constituency than just the state of Gujarat, whereas Rajan with most of his experience in academics has to apply economics tools to solve day to day economic and financial issues. It is not an easy job. Both will be under tremendous pressure because of high expectations.

As long as they represent hope, these two gentlemen will occupy a great deal of media space and people's  minds in coming years, including young minds......

I am very optimistic about an unparallaled triumph of Hon. Narendhra Modiji in upcoming central Elections..Wishing both this gentlemen best of their luck....

Fun with Friends : My treasured Possessions.......

Hello, As I pen these few words down, I am pretty sure that most of you, know me very well. Quite a many of you know me as a completely professional practical person, but for those who are really close to me(my family and my friends), I am more emotional than intelligent.Few of my fast friends used to tell me that : Gussa to tumhari naak par beithata hai, & they are right too; but I get angry over few people only who are really close to me. People say I am a mature girl ; but in reality, I love to be immature with my friends...My friends & well wishers many a times motivate me to write something and I do write. But, this blog has been written specifically for the person who inspired me to write about this topic and is dedicated to all my wonderful, beautiful and handsome friends who are inseparable part of my life.

Friendzz, when this word strikes to our mind, we automatically get relieved of all the personal and professional stress & tensions. Today I would like to take an opportunity to recall and share some special moments I shared with them. “I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy.”

I was very dull student when I was doing my primary schooling. No love for studies at all…Then after 5th class I was admitted to my mom’s school – Parimal School. She has always been and is being my biggest source of inspiration and motivation. Her qualities of Swiftness, Readiness & perseverance in undertaking any task made her my “Role Model” from the early days of my life.  Despite of being in her school, I was given the treatment as good as other students. I remember once I was slapped by my mom’s best frnd who was my teacher at that time for some mischief at school. But ultimately all those things were for my development only.

With school done , I was most sure of doing my  bachelors in science ; specially in Microbiology. During my bachelors, Ours was a gang of 9 girls & we had one place in the college which was actually the place where we used to come & enjoy after bunking the class. Over a period of time that place had become our ‘ADDA’, and from that adda we used to keep a close watch over every new faces entering and exiting a college and then making a huuuuge fun out of all. Let me share one very secret mischief with you all today, our FY class had two doors, so once teacher enters in the class and takes the attendance, having taken the attendance, he starts teaching and writing something on the board. Our entire group preplans the bunk and deliberately sits in the last benches. So when sir starts writing, we start cat – walk from the back side door. And then all friends at adda, doing lot of masti….I am fortunate that our entire group of science is intact till date. “Through every right and every wrong thing I've done, the wrong ones are the most fun doing....”

Now, for masters, we went to Ahmedabad – School of Sciences & we were residing in University Hostel. I consider my hostel days as GOLDEN DAYS of my life. Lots of memories attached to dept. and hostel including going to wide angle for  movie, visit to science city & FSL forensic science laboratory, friend’s wedding and midnight gossiping. In the hostel we had multicultural group coming from kutch, kerala, mehsana , godhara and of course saurashtra. Preparing food in the hostel room was prohibited, so we used to start that practice after 10 in the night, all frnds in one room & we start making some spicy stuff… I remember that peaceful night and uncontrollable whistle of pressure cooker...& all of us with fear  : Kahi rector ma’am na aajaye … Phir aiseme agar koi door knock karta hai, to sab kuch bed ke niche chupa ke darwaza kholtein, aur phir koi apana hi frnd nind se jag kar aaya dekh use boori tarah pitatein the….

My journey at ahmedabad has gifted me with few BFF – Best Friends Forever. I would specially mention here about Gayatri, she took lot of pain to understand me and then correct me, change me to the extent possible. There are many friends in our lives but only few are our true friends who can speak bitter words about us for our betterment. Gayatri is one of them. In last 7 yrs we hardly met three to four times, but till todate, just by listening to my hello in the phone, she can give a complete graph of my mood, my emotions, my concerns and everything about me. Unfortunately she doesn’t believe in God, but I being hardcore Krishna bhakt : Meera, thank him for a wonderful BFF Gift. “Growing apart doesn't change the fact that for a long time we grew side by side; our roots will always be tangled. I'm glad for that.” ― Ally Condie,

Other friends at Ahmadabad were completely opposite than my expectations about a’badis. Their also I had a wonderful group of 8-10 friends. I remember, we had gone to Panchmandhi for about 15 days & their it was 3-4*C @ that time. When I cann’t walk for few kilometers, my friends let me track for about 20 kms. I will not forget to mention here about BHEDAGHAT & a gr8 FUN WITH FEAR we had while passing through that river which was surrounded by huge mountains ranges both the sides..Ohhh it was thrilling experience. That was exactly the location where Kareena shoot ASHOKA.I just cant forget those spiral roads of panchamadhi, on one side there was a mountain range and the other side was a deep valley, very thin roads and unfortunately drunk driver….But still it was a gr8 fun their too.

I still remember that last night party where one of my very good friends Raj let me dance for the first time in public on the beats of KAREENA’S most popular song “Gila gila gila gila dil gila gila”.

Having finished my M.Sc, I did a job of lecturer in the field of science and then I joined Dept. of Mngt for doing my MBA. That was a revolutionary phase of my life, which changed my personality type actually from most studious, sincere, calm and introvert person to most humorous, mischievous, outspoken and extrovert person. And all credit goes to my current MBA Group which is not a group rather it’s a gang. Very few people enjoy their college life fully, which remains with them as non repeatable moment, but, I am blessed that I got the second chance during my MBA to enjoy those precious moments of my life again. That time we had decided to enjoy our life fully and we did so. Again lord Krishna gifted me some more BFF.

I just can't control myself recalling one session when we were giving missed calls to each other during one lecture, and disturbing each other. Unfortunately there was a presentation going on and my phone rang, sir was sitting at the back bench, so he couldn’t make out as to whose phone is ringing!!! By the time he comes up, I switched my phone off. He asked : whose phone was ringing?? Everyone was aware that it was my phone which was ringing, still no body replied…It was clearly seeming that they were becoming like a little Mafia. If one committed a mischief, the others would not tell. He adjourned that class and presentation both. I was very guilty that If I would have surrendered, this could not have happened… I went to those frnds who were presenting on that day & said sorry to them.& for my surprise they said “Don’t worry dear, You are always above all presentations”…That was most memorable incidence of  my MBA..Tab se lekar aaj tak jab bhi kisi class me kisi student ka phone bajata hai to… instead of scolding them I give a sweet smile in the memories of those days…I cherish all those moments of sitting in the parking till university watchman finally tells us to go…,reading newspapers in the class of junior faculty members, bunking the class in the name of placement coordination, tour coordination and many more.“Rules should always be bent, if not broken. It's the only way to have any fun.” - Alyson Noel.

I remember those days when there was a GCET organized at our dept. Across my jouney @ MBA Dept., we had organized about 11 events in total including Hawan to National Level Conference. Our visit to Kutch was the most memorable moment of my jouney at MBA Dept., we had gone to Mandavi beach, it was a gr8 fun der & we also had gone to 72 Jainalaaya where we stayed overnight & the fun we had their can’t be expressed in words..Knocking the doors of frnds in the middle of the night, and fight of one of our frnds with faculty companion made our picnic a real fun…

I am really really thankful to my sir, Dr Pratpsinh Chauhan, who brought my leadership potentials out by providing me lot of challenging tasks, motivation to accomplish those tasks and of course freedom to do anything and everything to get work done..I remember during our farewell function I was awarded with “MISS APEX AWARD” by Chauhan sir that was a moment of real pleasure…

When it comes to say something about BFF from saurashtra university, I will not escape to mention about my truly wonderful friend Mauli, she is really a gr8 gift of God to me.She listens to me in almost all the greys and whites of my life, provides me with a true backbone needed. Her presence in my life means really a lot to me…

I really cherish few special moments as in Sunday evening group meets(not less than any festival), making fun of almost everyone present and absent, teasing friends who are absent in the meeting by saying : “U R OUT OF THE GROUP NOW” b’coz ur attendance is low, in the initiation of every month sparing some time to list down the holidays & rest all fun on phone (jo Sunday ko reh gaye he) & that also in conference, one week to plan for a festive, festive itself and two weeks to talk about the fun we had during the festive..tab tak to naya festive plan due ho jata hai.....lol....

I may not be able to mention each & everyone's name here but some of my treasured possessions & fun with them will remain as a sweet silent smile on my face, always.....Today I express my heartfelf gratitude to all those who have made my journey so far truly memorable and BIG wala THANK to all those who have lived those moments with me. I can’t define the role of friends in my life through words but I only know that life without frnds is equal to air without oxygen, blood without RBCs, Heart without beats & ATM without money in the account…In short, It's been the best of journeys. And I hope it continues….

Awaiting YĮžUTH Revolution !!!!!!!!

I have been thinking of writing on this topic for so long but sometimes time and sometimes thoughts did not support….anyways today after finishing syllabus of my students, I am free after a long period….and suddenly thought of writing something..
I thank you in advance for sparing your valuable time to read my blog….Before you read my blog I humbly request you to drop your comments and suggestions after reading, along with the next topic you want me to write On ….
Youth when this word strikes to our mind, it automatically generates a wave of expectations in terms of tremendous enthusiasm, zeal, ability and capability to do almost everything.. Youngs are expected to rock the world through their unique pattern of thinking & getting things done, ability to explore innovation and Making Difference to themselves in Particular and Society in general. They should have a heterogeneous blend of knowledge, vision, power, confidence, motivation, and at the same time HUMILITY.
Now If I focus on contemporary condition, reality is far more away then expectations…today’s youngs are busy uploading their status on the FB, bunking the class to watch Dabang, sitting on the roadside to gossip with the friends for hours together…. bike racing....making girl friend/boyfriend just for the sake of showing the friends and passing time…wasting parent’s money… and many more…..
I don’t want to criticize but just to draw your kind attention that the people who are going to shape Nation’s Future are completely deviated from their path…there are quite a few traits of them which I observed and which needs an urgent attention..
The biggest thing which I observe is the lack of Self Confidence even after getting distinction in the masters they are not sure that they will secure their place in the market….My mom always tells me that “Confidence is half win.” I want to convey the same message to all the youngsters. I also perceive that youngsters should have the ability to put forward their ideas freely…..(taking initiative)..one thing which they should always keep in  a mind is “ when you are not putting your idea with the fear that people will not accept it, please do mind that you are the first to reject the idea.” I would not forget to point out one of the slokas of Bhagwad Gita uttered by Lord Krishna.. “Uddharet atma natmanam...” meaning, “Lift yourself by yourself; you are your own enemy and your own best friend”. Its you who will design you present and future…you are responsible for what you are and where you are!!!
The other most crucial trait which defines the YOUTH is ability to Lead…Any leader should have a tremendous influential power – he himself should be in a self motivated state. I remember one sentence of my most favorite teacher.. “You should have that much freshness that others can get freshness just by looking toward yourself.” Intrinsic motivation should drive you in any case. I say a tremendous Charisma must be there in any leader. I would not hesitate to refer to Mr. Narendra Modi while talking of any Charismatic leader; he actually has a marvelous Magnetic Power which attracts the people toward him. Today’s youth is no more interested to lead, they just follow & in that also they follow the crowd (wherein presence of Logic is questionable). In today’s competitive world if one wants to survive and grow then only formula is “Make Difference”.
I am also worried about the increased Materialism, nuclear families and young’s not respecting elders… If I talk of myself then I really feel honored to be born and brought up in India, in that also In Gujarat and in that also In Saurashtra…We are endowed with our rich cultural heritage..Wherein people were considering Parents as a God…Today’s modern youngsters perhaps forgot above facts in rush toward Westernization. This is a bitter reality that you can entertain your friends for hours together but you cannot give your half an hour to your parents..This reminds me one story :
There was a father with his two year old kid..a boy asked father( pointing toward the tree)..papa..what is that? Papa said, beta its parrot. Once again kid asked papa what is that on the tree?..papa with lot of love, beta its parrot..he again asked and papa all the time replied with love and care without getting irritated.
But after 30 yrs, when that man started finding hearing difficulties… and asked something twice to his son…he replied I get irritated by repeating everything  all the time. Its my humble request to all the readers please give lot of love, care and respect to your parents..Because otherwise their value can be realized only when they are not their…!!!!!! My mother always teach me that Do Develop Yourself, but in the process of developing yourself, wherever you reach and whatever you achieve, Keep HUMILITY  at the centre place…this she explains me by sighting the example ( KABIRJI rightly said that bada hua to kya hua, jaise ped khajoor; panthi ko chhaya nahi, fal lage ati door...) of Neem  Tree  - as it grows older its branches move down toward the mother Earth…that is try to have lot of Stability in all the grays  and whites of Life.
My only objective behind writing this blog is to awaken the Youth, and make them realize that its you who has to do something… Rely on your own strength, take for your star self-reliance, faith, honesty and industry. Don't take too much advice — keep at the helm and steer your own ship, and remember that the great art of commanding is to take a fair share of the work. Fire above the mark you intend to hit. Energy, invincible determination with the right motive, are the levers that move the world.

Modi to Mody - A real Life Story.......

Modi to Mody - A real Life Story.......

June 2005 - Today I felt like sharing my experience with my friends and decided to write my  own real life story –
I remember that day(after finishing my B.Sc) when I got a phone call from Dr. Dave Head Of the Dept. Microbiology – Gujarat University, asking that whether you people (me and Megha) are interested in taking admission in M.Sc or not..?? I replied with politeness Of course sir….but why U are asking like this??
He replied we have already sent you Interview Letter for an admission & date has gone & u have not reported…I was like…completely shocked…(lost the Opportunity)….managed to continue the conversation with Dr.Dave(HOD)…Sir(Politely), Nw there is any way out?? I dint receive the interview call becoz of rainy season… .
Sir –(Little Toughness in voice) if you(both) are interested remain present tomorrow for the interview @ Dept of Microbiology –A’bad..
Next day, with the blessings of my parents and grand parents n of course thy almighty, I started stepping towards A’bad from Rajkot…….Me, Megha  and Papa….started a journey towards A’bad in Eagle Travels…One thing which was agitating me was…..We were getting an admission in Saurashtra University (Home Pitch) & we were also getting in Sardar Patel University….Nw Gujarat University had a bundle of mystery for us……Now where to take an admission ??we were literally in dilemma…
I remember it was a sunny morning…I was quite happy but littlebit nervous becoz that day was about to decide my fate…..Finally we reached to the dept… waiting outside for Head to get free….it took almost half an hour…..environment was very live der….everyone starting from peon to research scholars were as against my expectations of being typical Ahemdabadi….
I was looking @ sky(actually @ God),asking him to take the decision in my favour….suddenly my mobile rang…it was mom – worried a lot…she sent me away from  her for the first time ,but she is very optimistic about me….she was trying to motivate me a bit & suddenly peon called us to meet Dr. Dave – We went to Dr. Dave – I entered & expressed my sincere thanx for personally calling for an interview…He gave a warm welcome to me as he was also Saurashtrian…. I felt warm…He  was completely surrounded by a work, there was no pin head space on his table….which was giving a signal of dept working in a healthy condition…
He den asked for B.Sc Marksheets – v gave – he checked it….said oh cent per cent same!!!!!!!!…….He told us to sit outside for 10 mins –after that Interview panel was about to conduct our interview –V were waiting outside and thousands of thoughts were passing in my minds as to what would be the better option…Sau Uni, SP Uni or Gujarat Uni??????
I was trying to get some hints from the clerk who was sitting next to me to meet Dr. Dave,   about the environment & culture of the dept…He told itzz very good… I felt sense of satisfaction…I looked @ him again & asked Hw are members of staff and teaching and all….He took a angry glance at me and replied everything is fair…… I remain quite then after…..
Peon Bell rings – Peon went in and came with jet speed to call us in – We went (nervous but confident) in – My slow but Confident voice – Come In Sir?? (I think was very impressive) – the committee offered me warm welcome…dave sir pointed toward a chair…v sat….Greeted all the members of Interview Committee –Dr Yadav – Sr most Professor & X- HOD ….Dr. Baldev Patel –(Most important Character of the story),and Davesir himself…. –A very Good Morning Sir(very energetic) – I think I almost win their hearts….
They people started asking us different questions  which were really very logical….we enjoyed answering them...they were delighted like ooooooooooooohh… one of the sirs…declared that interview Is over you please wait outside for a while---------We were now almost impatient…They called us in and Dr. Dave Explained Us that  they actually have three quotas for 50 seats..
1.       Gujarat university students(48 seats)
2.       Other university seat(1)
3.       Other state seat (1)

If they are very delighted then also they were in a position to offer us only one seat ,,but as we are born and brought up together… we were interested to take admission together otherwise SP and Saurashtra university had already offered us together…
Dr. Dave asked me that they can offer only one seat and either of us can join the course their ..as marks and interviews were almost same…    I politely replied that sir…starting from nursery till todate we never remain apart….if u wnt us to join then kindly offer two seats…..he said…beta its tough…..I was almost broken by his answer …once again dare to encourage him…sir…may be tough but not impossible…..Dave Sir was staring at me with a kind look…..
Suddenly Dr.Patel Intervenes….. saying that OKkkkkkkkkk…..”Ishvare tamane juda nathi karya to ame kon juda karva vala???” U both can take an admission…..Dave sir clarified that they have converted other state seat to other university seat and decided to give us admission…I was happy like anything….It was an incidence when I felt the presence of Lord Krishna…..around me….
I thank the committee for taking decision in our favor despite of some obstacles…Dave Sir replied  - dats fine but I want a Promise from You – I replied confidently – Any sir Any……..He told that whenever we give admission to saurashtrian they land somewhere in the range of First to Fifth, I replied sir…………  Promise from Mody (was trying to refer to Narendra Modi actually) dat we will stand not in the range but first and second only and through out All four semester…..
And with the grace of God, my parents and wishes of all my friends and wellwishers – we proved the same….Megha  got Uni. First and I got second… - surprisingly Megha Mody received the Gold Medal from Narendra Modiji (Modi to Mody)……….

Thank You all…..waiting for your comments on my blog…

Education

An Educational system isn;t worth a great deal if it teaches young people how to make a living but doesn't teach them how to make a life.
